remodeling question

Im pulling out a old divider wall.. it contains a switch and outlet in it.. the feed come thru the floor to the outlet then continues up thru and into the roof to the lights then back down to the switch. can i slice or just add wire nuts and extra wire to get the new length i need to move the switch..? i can re run new line form the old junction box under the floor to the outlet

You can splice in new wire in place of old wire, but all splices must be in permanently accessible junction boxes. This means a box with a blank cover that you can always get to. The box can be in the attic, basement, wall or ceiling but the box cannot be blocked by wallboard or anything else permanent.

mmm guess that makes sense... mm so i need to find a way then to get to the light or box in the celing and run new fomr there as well then Thanks very much for the info..
