circuit breaker very hot

I have a circuit breaker that kicks off several times in the afternoon each day for the past 4 days. When I go to flip it back on it is extremely hot to the touch. Is it a bad breaker or what should I do to resolve this problem. Thanks Ken

Stop switching it back on and call a certified electrician.

It could be a bad breaker, or it could be a loose connection, or it could simply be an overloaded circuit.

What is on the circuit, and what could cause it to overload?

I agree strongly with the advice to quit switching it back on. This can cause permanent damage that would be very expensive to repair.

Is there an air conditioner on this circuit? If so, you should unplug it and quit using it until you have somebody check out the circuit.

Technician fixed problem

I called a service technician and it was a loose connection. Thanks for your advice. Ken
