Need Advise: Refrig & Washer sharing a Receptacle
I just bought a new refrigerator (a backup) and my wife wants to put it near the washer. I have a choice of sharing a duplex receptacle with the washer or running a new line from the panel. I would very much prefer the first option for the obvious reason of keeping the cost down.
Thanks for any help.
Refrigerator is rated 6.5 amps
Washer is rated 10 amps
Receptacle has 20 amp circuit breaker (120 v)
User guide for both the appliances recommend to use separate 15 amp receptacle.
Considering the above is it safe for me to share this receptacle?Washer is rated 10 amps

Thanks for any help.

You will probably be okay with this setup. You MAY run into a problem if the refrigerator kicks on when the washer is drawing it's maximum power, but you may not either.
