Replaced old wall sockets, some don't work

I'm completely baffled. I just replaced 5 wall sockets which all reside on the same circuit breaker. I now find that just the 5th socket is working. The other four appear completely dead. I pulled them out to ensure I had them wired properly and everything looks good. The problem now appears that I'm not getting any juice from the wires. I used a connection tester directly on the black and white wire, and I have nothing, no light... for four of them.

Some of them were two wire connections, and some had all four. They all were working before I replaced them, I can see how you may think user error, but how could I have one working outlet that resides on the same breaker as four other outlets that appear to be getting ZERO juice.

I'm getting ready to sell, I've spent my last cent on getting everything ready... the last thing I want to do is have to hire an electrician. Your help is greatly appreciated

Either you made a mistake somewhere, or there is an additional problem on the circuit that you need to find. Check everything on the circuit, including receptacles and switches that work. If you have any back stabbed connections, move them to the screw terminals.

The Outlets That Had The Four Wires Are The Ones That Feed To
The Next Outlet, It Seems Weird That The 5th Device Works And The Others Don't.

Usually In This Situation, The Wiring Fault Is Ahead Of The Last
Dead Device.

Were Any Of These Outlets Connected To A Wall Switch?

Start With The Device Closest To The Feed Panel And Work Your Way Out To The Last
