Question want to rewire some shoplights, need assistance

I have 4 rows of shoplights in my basement. They are all on a dedicated breaker and are controlled by a single lightswitch.

What I would like to do is setup a 4 gang box so each row is controller by its own switch. The lights are all currently wired in series using 14/2 NM wiring. The power source currently goes into the switched outlet.

How do I go about this project?

Bring power from the current switch box to the new switches and run a new 14/2 from each switch to the lights.

If all your switches are going to be in the same place, you can use a 14/3 to one light and then a 14/2 over to the next light, but the first way you only have to buy one type of wire.
