Wiring Basement Question (Part 2)

Guys, thanks for the help...I am down to my last room and its a bathroom and I need a little more help.

Situation: I have a #14/2 wire coming into the bathroom at the light fixture location...so I would like to wire the following:
  1. In coming wire to light fixture
  2. wire from light fixture to Light Switch
  3. wire from Light Switch to an outlet
I know how to wire the in coming wire to the light fixture, bringing the wire to the Light Switch.

Question: How do I wire the Light Switch, bringing the power to the outlet?

Thanks,

FBell

To be code compliant you'll need to have the receptacle fed by a 20A circuit. You have two options:

1. Run a circuit in a minimum of 12 to the receptacle and keep your lighting on the existing 14/2 run. You can add additional bathroom receptacles in the house to this circuit, but only bathroom receptacles.

2. If the existing 14/2 run only feeds the bathroom, you can upgrade the wire to 12 and wire the light and receptacle on the same circuit. This circuit can only feed devices in this specific bathroom.

Both of these circuits need to be on a 20A breaker and the receptacle will require GFCI protection.
