Power Socket's in Loft Needed?

Hi,

I have just moved to an old house, i am looking at moving my office into the loft of this house, but it only has lighting and no power outlets.

I have checked under a few of the floor boards but am unsure if these cables are for lighting or power outlets.

Does anybody know what i should be doing here? or do i need to get a sparky in to fix this up for me.

Best Regards

Stuart

Most likely all of the power in the existing circuits in your house is already spoken for. Adding your office to any of them will probably overload them. So you need one or more new circuits (depending on how much office equipment you have). Check your main electrical panel. Are there unused spaces?

I can tell from the way you asked the question that you would have a lot to learn before attempting this project. If time is more valuable than money, call an electrician. If money is more valuable than time, and if you have technical interests and skills, check out several books on home wiring from your library and read them
