I am installing a lanscaping spot light. At the end of the uf wire im putting in a plug which i can just plug in to a recepetacle. One connector is brass and the other is silver. Which color do i put on what one. thank you

I do not believe that UF cable is listed for attachment to a cord cap.

You don't do this. It violates code and is dangerous. Wire it properly or not at all.

Please heed the advice already given. However, to help you in future projects you may undertake, in electrical devices such as receptacles and plugs, the HOT wire ( usually black, may be red or blue ) always goes on the brass colored screw, and the NEUTRAL wire (white) always goes on the silver colored screw.
