1 light, 1 switch

just went to switch out a fixture and all the wiring fell apart. ( REAL OLD!!!) Anyway, it has one set of power wires (B & W), one set of switch wires (B & W), and the wires from fixture (B & W). How do these six wires become connected??? Thanks for your help. The light is currently just hardwired to power so it is always on. (Started today!) Thanks

Please verify that the switch only has two wires. Both of those wires, the black and the white, should be connected to the switch.

Connect as follows (assuming that the switch really is connected to the black and white wire from the light):

The black power wire to the white switch wire. The black switch wire to the black light wire. The white power wire to the white light wire.
