Angry Wiring to shed w/switch and outlet

I ran power from my panel to my shed, and installed a duplex outlet and a switch. I want to have power to the switch to operate the shed lights, yet keep continuous power to the outlet. The wires coming into the box now are the 3 wires from the lights and the three supplying power from the panel. How do I hook these up? Thanks

So you want to put the switch and receptacle (separate devices) in the same double-gang box, right?

Yes, both switch and outlet are in the same box.

  • Black feed to one brass screw on the receptacle.
  • White feed to one silver screw on the receptacle.
  • White to lights on other silver screw on the receptacle.
  • Black jumper wire from other brass screw on the receptacle to one screw on the switch.
  • Black to lights on other screw on the switch.
  • Use a wire nut to connect both grounding wires to two bare pigtails, one to the green screw on the switch and one to the green screw on the receptacle.
