Christmas Lights and Sidewalks
I have a tree in the front yard that I'd like to decorate with Christmas lights, only problem is it's on the far side of the sidewalk, meaning I'd have to drag an extension cord across it. I'm worried about doing that for a couple of reason, 1) I don't want to have to worrry about it when I'm shoveling, and 2) I don't want anyone to trip on it.
I can only imagine this problem has come up before and there's a simple solution I just haven't thought of. Some freinds recommened a solar power generator, but that seems like it might be a bit expensive. Anyone have any suggestions?
Thanks again,
Jeremy

If this is a public sidewalk then I would not light this tree. The liability is just too great.
If this is a sidewalk on your property, such as a walkway to the front door, or somewhere else, then I would consider running a permanent receptacle to a location near or under the tree, which won't be easy.
