Light Switcy

I replaced a double toggle switch in my bathroom that controls the heater and light but now one switch turns both of them on and the other switch doesn't turn anything on. I thought I wired it just like the one I took off. I have one live wire and a wire to each fixture.
Help me please!!!

One of the following things happened:
  • If there were four wires (not counting ground) attached to this duplex switch (usually one black and one white on top, and one black and one white on bottom), then you have two switch loops. In this case, you need to break out the tab on one side of the device.
  • If there are only three wires (not counting ground) attached to the device (usually three black, or two black and one red), then you failed to notice which side had the tab, and you connected the wires formerly on the non-tab side to the tab side.
I'm betting on the second option. Try removing the wires, flipping the device upside down, and reattaching them.
