Intermatic

I just purchased an Intrematic EJ500 and cannot get it to work automatically...and the outlet is not wired for three-way...does anyone have any advice?..please email.

What kind of lamp are you trying to use this on?

I looked at the installation instructions and they are straightforward. You said it is not a 3-way, so your house wires would be connected to Black and Blue on the intermatic. Red is capped off.

Note that this is suitable primarily for incandescent, and possibly certain fluorescents. Also, it lists a MINIMUM load wattage of 40 watts, so it would not be suitable for most of the compact fluorescent fixtures, or the new "spring" or "coil" shaped flourescents. Actually, it is quite dangerous to use any electronic timer, dimmer, or 2-wire photocell with ANY fluorescent fixture which is not rated as "dimmable" or otherwise specifically so rated. FIRE can result.

Just curious...What is a EJ500? Some sort of timer?

It is an electronic programmable timer, repaces a standard or 3-way regular light switch in a gang box.
