Post wiring new circut

hi, if i am using 12 guage wire to wire a new circut, can i use a 15amp breaker, with 15 amp switches and recepticles? or do i have to use 20amp for the 12 gauge wire? I only need 15amp for my requirements. Thanks.

If all you need is a 15 amp circuit then run #14 on a 15 amp breaker.
If you want to use the #12 then use ALL #12 and put it on a 20 amp breaker. No reason to use a 15 unless the run is very long, like over 125'-150' or more.

In the US you can legally and safely use 15 amp devices on a 20 amp circuit. This is provided there is at least one duplex receptacle and/or the load on the switches does not exceed 15 amps.
