More than 1 circuit in a box??

I tried searching here but couldn't find anything.

On another forum (not electrical), I saw the following "it is against electrical code to mix power from two circuits in the same outlet box". If this is true, my house is wired all wrong! Can someone tell me if it's true or guess at what this guy was talking about?
Thanks!

It is NOT against code to mix power from two different circuits in the same box.

Whether this is a good idea or not is a different question.

I recommend that if you do have this situation that you make detailed notes on your panel (where you should have a complete and accurate description of exactly what is on each and every breaker) of which breakers share a common box. This way you can turn off BOTH circuits whenever you need to work on either of them, and especially if you work on the box where they cross.
