How to cut wires?

How to cut wires?
I was wondering, If you have to cut live wires, how do you go about not getting Electrocuted? Its a long story, and I don't want to explain it right now, but I have to cut some live wires.
There are 3 wires, Positive, Negative, and Ground. They are connected to 120volts.
So, is this correct?
Cut the Positive, then the Negative, Then the Ground? or will that get me shocked?
What is the correct order in which one would cut the wires?
Thanks in advance,
-RuSty.

In a home there is never a reason to cut a live wire, especially for a DIY.
If this is commercial you wouldn't be asking.
Also, we never use "positive and negative". The accepted terms are hot and neutral.

(2) He went ahead and cut the wires and won't be heard from again (by anyone)...

Rusty,
take a second look at your decision to cut live wires please. Is your life really worth not calling an electrician to help you figure out this problem whatever it is?
Some of the posts answering your question were a bit sharp but it's only everybody's way of saying Don't Do This because we all want people to stay alive.
If you don't want to call an electrician, at least post your problem up here for people to read and maybe a solution can be found.
