Neutral/ground bars

From what I can see on the main panel on the outside of my house and from what I've read the grounding bar and neutral bar are the same. Is this true? I'm wanting to add a new outdoor receptical and want to make sure I'm puting the neutral & ground wires in the right place for this new curcuit. -thanks.

In the panel housing the main disconnect, and only there, the neutrals and grounding bars are either interconnected, or are the same bar. With most bars, you can use a hole to attach either one neutral wires, or one or two grounding wires.
