Smoke detector in suspended ceiling

I need to relocate an existing line-voltage smoke detector from the truss-mounted plastic box to a panel in my suspended ceiling. What is the proper way to mount the detector? I thought I could get something like a ceiling box on a metal spanner, like you would to fit in between two joists, but when I asked for the suspended ceiling equivalent at the local big box store, I got a blank stare.

An electrical supply house will provide you with what you need.

Just buy a round junction box with a spreader bar already attached. Make sure the face of the box is flush with the face of the tile. Screw the bar to the ceiling grid.

Thanks to those that responded. The local big bix didn't have a spreader to attached to the grid, only to nail into joists. The electrical supply house got me set up.
