One button two chimes

I see this past summer someone had problems wiring two door bell chimes to one button. The suggestion was to use a bigger transformer. I am attempting the same operation. How many different size transformers are there? How do I determine which size to use for my application?

A single-chime transformer is normally marked for 16 volts and 10 va (volt-amps). For two chimes, keep the voltage the same at 16, but buy one marked for 20 va. For three chimes, 30 va.

These guidelines are somewhat of an approximation, since different types of chimes require different amounts of power.

like a charm

Switching out the transformer to the 20va worked perfectly. Thank you for the help.
