Question Mixing NMB and armored cable???

I always use NMB but... the basement wall system I'm putting in uses dryall over styrofoam insulating panels screwed to the concrete walls. Electrical wiring needs to be routed through the styrofoam. Rather than risk code and the potential for an errant nail to puncture the NMB, armored cable would be good protection. Since it's only needed on the drops, I want to tie it back into junction boxes in the ceiling and use gold old NMB for the rest of the circuits.

Is there anything in the code or anything about mixing the two wire types that's not cool? I can't find anything.

Thanks guys!

There is no code prohibition against mixing the wiring methods as long as junction boxes are used and remain permanently accesssible and the bonding is continuous.

The hot knives I have seen to cut thru these panels looked like the would keep the wires 1 1/4" deep from the face of the foam. After cutting the channel the wires were installed and spray foam was used to repair the chase.
