Allister Door Opener Type IIA

Light socket always hot, thus light does not go off after period of time when door opens/closes. How fix?

Are you talking about a garage door opener?

Yes, it's a garage opener, The remote works OK to open and close,,,just have to keep the bulb unscrewed to keep the light from staying on. Unsure how to get to the light on/off timer mechanism.

Without a wiring diagram, it's just a guess, but part of your logic board could be bad. Per an internet site I checked, they are around $ 60 for a new board.

Remove the four screws that hold the cover on, and look at the circuit board. There you will see three relays. One of them is stuck.
Rap on them a few times with the plastic end of a screwdriver.
Sometimes that works, but most of the time...
New board
