wire a timer to an electric water heater

Can anyone help me wire a timer to an electric water heater.

The timer is a reliance 525D model. It was hooked up to an electric company load control receiver. I would like to use just the timer. The timer has 5 terminal screws + 1 ground terminal screw. There are 3 blue and 1 black wires comming from the timer, all capped. The water heater is hard wired to a 220v line at this time.

Any ideas?

Thanks, fred

I moved this to electrical to see if anyone has more experience with these. I mainly disconnect/reconnect setups like these without knowing the # of terminals or know-how of the innards.

Fred,

Contact the manufacturer of the timer and obtain a the specs on the timer and a wiring diagram.
