Timer light switch, OOOOPPPS

So, all I wanted to do is add an automated light switch, Seeing how nobody knows how they turn off,I thought this would be a good solution (Im sure some of you can relate.).
This particular light had to be on its own ckt.(so I thought).
However I had no extra ckts on my 100 amp panel. SO , I added a sub panel, found my ckt and things were GREAT< she was happy, and I as well.

Then my house was smelling funny, one day my neighbor started yelling, Then my kids, then my wife (hero status took a nose dive),Fortunatly I was able to go in and save the fish and the cats, Then I went back for the baby.
(yes he's fine thanks).

I'm not sure what I did wrong, but for what I pay in insurance fees, I would expect my agent to tell me.If I disagree , I'll have my lawyer speak.
Now 1&1/2 years later I am very happy with my temporary trailer ,(my agent is not) But we're all ok, and thats all that matters. I am most especialy happy that I have the extra $300.00 that the electrician wanted to do the job.
Because now I know we can eat.

Save the fish and the cat before the baby? That was a wise move.

Timer Light Switch, Oooops

Ladies and Gentelmen,

I AM WILLING TO BE THE BRUNT OF YOUR COMMENTS, For the greater good.

HOWEVER, I think as PROFESSIONALS, Wich I consider myself to be. WE MUST, on a regular basis remind OURSELFS and the GENERAL PUBLIC,of the dangers , hazards, and IRREVERSIBLE affects of electricity.

This particular feild is not a hobby.

:wmann3: It can have devistating affects on LIFE and property. I personaly ,would like to know that if MY (or your)children, relatives or any one that I cared about ,were in a properly wired enviroment.
one bad splice can spell disaster. As you know, You can not feel, see or smell the dillema.

YES, I DO have over (20) twenty years in the business, And I have seen the damage done to professionals and the lay alike. So, I guess this is more of a public service than any thing else.

BE CAREFULL.... KNOW YOUR LIMITS...... When in doubt don't be afraid to
admit it. NO CHILDREN< BABIES< CAT OR FISH< were hurt during this public announcement. BE SMART...... BE SAFE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The firefighters weren't able to tell you where it started? After a year and a half, did you ever figure out what went wrong? (glad to hear everyone is alright, including the fish!...)
