Flickering lights (both mine and neighbor's)

Hope someone can offer an explanation for this one:

I should start by telling you that my next door neighbor and I both receive our electrical service from the same pole, and that a street light is also attached to the utility pole.

Recently upgraded my service to 200 amp in preparation for a central air conditioning installation. After the AC was installed, I noticed that whenever the compresser kicks on, the lights dim momentarily. I was disappointed, because I thought the service upgrade would prevent that from happening. Anyway, not long after my neighbor mentions that her lights were flickering sometimes at night, and that had never happened before. Then, I started noticing that occasionally the street light would periodically go out, then after a few minutes warm up again to full power. Well, I started watching the street light and noticed that the light was not going out randomly, but exactly when my AC compressor kicked on. Then, I noticed that the street light would also go out when other motors in my house would kick on (washing machine pump, dishwasher, etc). So there has to be a connection here.

Any guesses? Thanks in advance!

Call the power company. Have them come out and check things. Tell them everything you have told us.

DO IT NOW!

They all have 24hr emergency service. At least try to speak to someone.

The bad pun here is, "No, there isn't"
The connection at the transformer, (or the lack thereof) is your most likely culprit.
