James Bacus

I am going to install an electrical kitchen range. It will have one oven. What size wire should I use,and what amp breaker? Thank you.

Can you provide a little more info? Most are either 30 or 40 amp at 240V. What does your range show on the spec plate. Also. click on the search function near the top right of this page and enter electric range. You will find many tips.

Regardless of the size of the range, I would go with 6-3 with ground cable, assuming cable is allowed where you live. You then base the breaker size on the requirements of the range.
