Water heater wiring

I am installing a new water heater in my garage. The 208-240V supply from the breaker box has two hots (black & red) from a double pole 30 amp breaker, the neutral (white) and the ground (bare copper). The water heater has two wires (black & red) and a ground wire screw. What do I do with the neutral leading to the water heater?

Thanks for your help to an electrical idiot and Have A Great Day!

Your water heater is a pure 240 load. You don't use the neutral. Cap it.
