question about double switch box
I'm doing some work in my bathroom which had only one outlet (on one circut) and one switch to ceiling light (on another circut). Since I took the old paneling down and am putting up new I thought I would add a ceiling fan and another light and outlet. The ceiling fan would be on one circut with a switch and the outlet and other light would be on another circut and switch. My question is...can the two switches (two different circuts) share a box?

for two circuits in bathroom it can be done but a catch is the code is written very carefull here.
ceiling fan in bathroom ?? how big this bathroom is ?
the repectaile circuit what you have in there it have to be GFCI [ ground falut circuit inturppter ]
really i will advise you backtrack a min and find out where is the other circuit tied to this bathroom repectale if it is only one to this one you are ok.
as far for the lumiaires [ lights ] it is touchy in this spot as long there is no lumiaires above the bathtub you are ok but if need one above bathtub it have to be either wet or damp location.
please do check with your local codes it might be little diffrent then what i am speaking here
if need more question please do post it here
Merci , Marc

the ceiling fan is made for bathroom and is right size for the room. the light will be on the oppisite wall away from tub/shower. the outlet is gfci. the one circut goes nowhere else, the other goes to another outlet in the next room that is seldom used. so with that said can the two circuts on different switches share a double switch box?

yes you can have two diffrent circuits in the two gang box what you called double box but one catch here do not tie netrual wires together keep the netural on it own circuits the reason why i warn here it is too easy to get this mess up espcally try to trobleshooting later.
