PVC Does it HAVE to be sceduale 80 or can it be 40

Thank you all for all the help so far. This phase is the trenching. Running the electrical conductors underground for my pool wiring, does the PVC HAVE to be 80 or can 40 be used? Is 40 acceptable?

Sch 40 is generally used for direct burial. Sch 80 is required in areas subject to damage, usually anything from above the minimum burial depth of the conduit to 6-10 feet above ground if outside. Other issues may apply, but generally, anything in the trench can be SCH 40 and the sweeps (the 45 or 90 deg bends) and the risers are Sch 80.

Make sure the diameter you use is large enough.
