electric bb questions

I am planning to install a 220v 8' electric baseboard in a room (built over an old patio) that does not provide me with a good way to run copper to a hwbb unit without fear of freezing.

Lowe's has Hydrotherm brand - is this a good product? Please tell me that this supplemental heat source will not cost me loads of $$ per month to operate. The room is 7x15 and very well insulated.

For discussion, 1000 watts is probably adequate for your 105 sq.ft. room. If your electric costs 15 cents, like here, then it would cost you 15 cents per hour. Multiply that out by how many hours a day you think the heat will actually be on to get your cost. Six hours running time per day is 90 cents per day, $27 per month.

I was figuring about $30 per month. I guess that is not so bad....... It will be a dining room so I can keep it a bit lower when not used. The Hydrotherm 8' is 2000 watts. I thought that this would be about right for the room - hope it's not overkill. Anyone have/like the Hydrotherm?
