aluminum cable

I have 100 feet of 100 amp aluminum service entrance cable that I want to run to my garage. I plan on using conduit for this run. This is entrance cable used by the electric provider in overhead installation from pole to house. Will this be suitable to run underground through conduit? I will be using 1 or 2 15 amp motors at a time.

Thanks

Gerald

This cable is probably not suitable, but this is not certain.

How many conductors are present? (2, 3, or 4?)
Are all of the conductors insulated, or are any bare?
What markings (if any) are present on the cable?
What is the gauge of the conductors?

You generally need to have 4 conductors (although there are circumstances where you can get away with only 3).
