Insulation over IC rated recessed lights?

hi

Can I put insulation directly over my IC rated recessed lights.

They protrude into my attic so can I just "bury" them to reduce heat loss etc? Or do I need to be more cautious than that?

thanks

IC rated fixtures are made so that insulation can be placed right next to the housing.

So can I bury them underneath insulation? or just put insulation next to them.

I see some sites say over and others say next to. It gets confusing?

Both over and next to are OK.
