Question head phone wire CAN'T SPLICE

i am trying to splice some head phones that got cut but i when the wires are connected again it doesn't work

i think it is because of the wires, cuz they don't look like regular wires they don't have rubber around them, they were touching each other and every small "hair" wire is "painted" or something

does any one know how to splice them together or anything abuot them

THANKS SOOOOO MUCH,
ww2

Each strand is individually insulated, so needs to be cleande off before soldering.

scrape with a razor knife, or burn it off with a lighter.

You also may have 4 conductors. Each speaker (1/2 of the headphone) requires 2 wires to operate.

If it looks as only one half of the cable runs to each speaker, then you have a cable with 4 conductors in it. They are very small but they are there. One is inside the other.

If you have stereo headphones, this is probably the situation.
