Adding A Meter/ Unit?
hello,
we have a building with about a 7 foot basement.
what is the process for having PGE add a meter on the building to provide a separate electrical bill here?
there is no address, but there is a front door. can we just put a .5 or a B address on the door? do you need to clear it as living space with the city first? what is that process?
thanks,
m

By all means check with the local authorities. They will assign you an address, sell you a permit, and increase your taxes (now you have a multi-family dwelling with a different tax base). They will require special fire protection, certain ingress and egress specifications, and it goes on. Good luck with it.

All of the above!!!!
Why do you need/want another meter? there are other options if you want to rent space (other than living space), a sub panel with an electronic meter, then you can by pass all those (porkbelly) FEES(TAXES).
