Standard basement light fixture

I have a friend who is trying to install (for me) an additional basement light fixture so that the new one will go on and off when the chain is pulled on the original one.

My basement is unfinished and these are the lights with the inexpensvie white fixture called a Pull Cord Ceiling Lampholder.

The following is what he asked me to see if I could get any info on:

"Can you provide a wiring diagram for connecting a new basement ceiling lampholder ( without a pull chain) to an existing ceiling lampholder ( with a pull chain) so both lamps will operate together? Does it make any difference which screw the black wire is wired to?"

I know you folks can't supply a diagram but wondered if you had any suggestions.

Thanks.

If you mean the pullchain operating both lights, it can't be done, as the pullchain switch has no controlled output terminal useable in such a fashio, plus may not be rated for it. You can run both from a single wall switch though.

Thanks for the response. I wondered if that was possible but at least now I know it's not.
