One more hot tub question!

Thanks for your help on the other thread. My question here is this, if I have a 50amp installed (via subpanel). Then end up with a 30amp or 40amp hot tub, I should be OK right?

I assume there would be a GFI receptacle/box on the outside of my house, then wired directly to the Hot Tub - meaning not using typical plugs. For example, a cord/plug will not run from my hot tub to the receptacle. If that thinking is correct, then I simply have more amps then needed, which should not be a problem?

Thanks again for your help

No, there will not simply be a large receptacle on the side of your house. The spa must be connected via conduit with condustors inside. It will likely be 40, 50 or 60 amps.

Running a circuit capable of 50 or 60 amps is NO problem if the unit only requires 40.
