Can I use grey pvc elect conduit for irrigation (water) supply?

I need to run about 300ft of 3" irrigation supply line and was going to use the white sch 40 pvc pipe for water... Until I saw price around $2.50 a ft... Our local Lowes has 3" grey sch 40 pvc pipe used for electrical conduit which is same size for only $1.30 a ft...

Can I use the grey pipe for my irrigation supply? It would never be used for a potable source...

Thanks in advance!

I've used it. Works fine. Well, my caveat would be that I've used 3/4" grey PVC for some irrigation. While I would expect it to work fine, I won't guarantee it.

I assume this is where no one could confuse it for buried electrical lines? I also have no idea on legality issues, if there are any.
