Cutting amored cable?
Hello All-
Quick do-it-yourselfer question here.
I'm working on a wiring project replacing old, existing cloth-wired BX cable in my house for newer armored cable wiring.
How do I cut the BX to the needed length without damaging the wires/insulation inside. Is there a special cutter for this purpose?
thanks!

You can get one of these:

Be sure that the depth of the cutter is set correctly and use the red anti short bushings.
I just snap the cable in half with my hands and use my diagonal pliers to carefully nip the outer casing. then trim the casing the same way before inserting the anti short.

That is exactly the tool I use.
I don't think I can advertise specifically where I got it but it wasn't Lowes or Home Depot. I only know of three big box home supply stores.
I have had to do more than 50 cables in day before. (that makes 100 cuts ) While jwhites's method does work, it is more work than I care to do if I can find an easier way.
