Electrical Switch not working properly

Hi, We have 2 light switches for the bathroom light. They used to function properly until one night a storm caused the problem. Now we can only turn the light ON/OFF from one switch at the time. One switch has to be in the ON position for the other switch to function properly and vise versa. Does anyone know how to fix this problem ? If I turn switch 1 OFF, I want to be able to turn the light back ON with Switch 2 .
Many Thanks & hope I didn't confuse everyone !

One (or more) of the wires has come undone, or one of the switches is bad. Check the wires and reconnect the loose one, or if the wiring checks out then replace the switches.

Apparently you have 2 (3 way switches),, if you do replace these switches,, make sure you rewire them exactly the way the old ones were wired,, one screw will be a different color then the other two,, hook up that one first to advoid confusion,, then the other two wires,, do the same at teh other switch,, SHUT OFF THE POWER FIRST
