250v outlet

I am trying to install a AC unit on my third floor and I can't get it to work, it requires a 15amp 250 volt outlet let. I have wired the outlet and only the display comes on, but not the blower. Anyone have any ideas

Well the info is a bit light so here are a few areas to check.

Do you actually have 250 (actually 240 is considered the nominal voltage) at the recep?

Not that it is common or probable but are you positive the unit did not require a 120/240 recep?

You are attached to a 2 pole breaker, correct?

Now to the REALLY basic ideas:

did you turn the unit on?

did you adjust the thermostat to call for cold?

did you follow any instruction that came with the unit that may solve your problem (that is my dad's old saying: if all else fails, read the directions)

no A/C power

Since the display only works, seems like only one side of the 240v line is hot.

Have you tried other devices in this outlet? If other devices worked fine it's something wrong with AC unit ...

I doubt this is possible. Most people do not have multiple portable devices that run off 240 volts.

I suspect the original poster has solved his or her problem and moved on...
