3 way dimmer question

I'm wiring a standard 3 way switch setup in my basement...14/2 from panel comes into first box to 3 way switch...14/3 to the next 3 way switch then 14/2 to the light. I want to make one of those 3 way switches a dimmer, does it matter which one is the dimmer?

No. It makes no difference. Just do not use two three way dimmers.

They do make three way dimmers made to be used in pairs. Cost much more $$ than the single ones.

You may want to locate the dimmer at the most used entrance. That way it can be turned on full when entering.
