Low Generator Output

I have a deVilbiss GBVE8000 generator that reads only 107-108 VAC at the two 110 VAC outlets. I checked my DVOM by reading good voltage at the house outlets. Is there a way to adjust the generator output? The owner's manual is no help. Readying to help paint the community fence this weekend.
Thanks.

First you must make sure your meter is a TRUE RMS type ( it is probably not). Generators do not aleaysput out good sine waves, and this can make your meter read incorrectly.

Most portable generators have sloppy tolerances -- I wouldn't expect better than 10-15%; especially under load. This is one reason you shouldn't run anything electronic like a computer or TV off a small generator. I think your generator is probably normal.

Thanks

Thanks for the responses. Since I'm only going to be running paint sprayers this time I won't worry about it.
