Using IC recessed lights in basement?

Any reason to use "insulated ceiling" recessed lights for a basement, which I don't plan on insulating? I recently received a quote from an electrician for 6.5" Lightolier IC lights for my basement.

You would not be required to use IC (insulation contact) lights, however you also would not be prohibited from using them. Perhaps he had a bunch of them in stock. The price is not significantly higher for IC over non-IC recessed lights and would allow you the flexibility of insulating in the future.
