flickering halogen bulb

I have a light fixture with 3 halogen lights. I installed 50w bulbs on them and noticed one bulb flickers on and off when it warms up. The other 2 are fine.

Would anyone know if this is likely a problem with the bulb or the socket?

Thanks.

Could be either. Sounds like the connection is weak as the fixture heats up. Try pulling the bulb out and examining the socket to see if the contacts are loose or corroded. Sometimes all you need to do (with the power off, of course) is bend up the little tab in the bottom of the socket so it makes better contact with the bulb base.
