halogen dimmer switch?

Can I put a dimmer switch on a halogen light? I looked on Leviton site but could not find it to say if you could or couldn't.

Yes, make sure the dimmer is rated for the correct wattage.

Halogen or not makes no difference. The voltage is what matters.
Is this low voltage halogen or 120v line voltage?

Good catch Speedy,

If low voltage get the paper work. Some can be dimmed and some not. Some require magnetic dimmers and some electronic.

Thanks for the information. I have not found my directions for it. Hopefully I will. These bulbs are on a track and did find that it said 12 volt.

Here is exactly what it says:

Use only Type 3 Lamp 50 watt max. 12v,
