low voltage dimmers why?

low voltage dimmers why?

why do i need a low voltage dimmer if the dimmer is before transformer!

Unless you have a dimmable transformer, you cannot dim the transformer.

Dimmers do not like inductive loads, drives them nuts. But it is possible that a dimmer designed for a fan might work, that is an inductive load. In fact, I have had a fan dimmer on my under cabinets lights for years, it dims the transformer.
