smoking electrical cord

Unhappy smoking electrical cord

This is my 2nd electrical cord I purchase that smokes and burns my prongs on my blower and now my edger??? What is going on? HELP

Extension cord? Go with a heavier cord.(12/3)
These were probably 18 or 14/2. causing a voltage drop.
Be glad you didn't smoke the equipment.

The longer and thinner the extension cord, the more heat will develop. Use the shortest, thickest wired (lower ga.) cord you can for the job.
