Plastic box question....

Is it ok on plastic boxes to have 2 12-2 wires coming in the same hole? I have a total of 3 12-2 wires coming into the box but I want all the wires coming out the bottom. The box is 22 cu in BTW. Also do pigtails inside the box count as far as box fill goes?

Most plastic boxes allow more than one cable per connector.

Wires that start and terminate in the box without leaving (ie pigtails) do not count towards box fill. However, they do make it more difficult to fit everything in place.

My general idea is when it becomes a pushing match to get the device in i usually upsize the box, even if it is legal. I have seen too many thigns go wrong from people pushing things in , evereythign from broken splices, ground outs , shorts , backstabs pooping loose. It really is a headache. Do your self a favor and install a larger box .
