gfci issue

I have a gfci outlet that has tripped and will not reset. the breaker is not tripping, however, none of the outlets associated with the gfci or the breaker work either. I have replaced the gfci outlet itself and had the same issue. I also have checked all the outlets for improper wiring and have not found anything obvious. Any thoughts? thank you!

Check for water in one of the receptacles.

Disconnect the downstream receptacles. See if the GFCI will reset. Then one by one or by divide and conquer add the downstream receptacles until you figure out where the problem is.
