updating kitchen
hi all, was updating kitchen wiring and found all the gfci and regular outlets are rated 15 amp, 120v. but the wiring is 12 gauge 20 amp with 20 amp breakers.(i ass u med they were all the same) do i need to change the gfci and outlets to 20 amp or is this not a bad broblem. thanks

this is not a problem, as stated in NEC 210.21(B)(1), 210.21(B)(2) and 210.21 (B)(3), if a 20 amp circuit serves a single recepticle, that recepticle must be rated 20 amps. If the 20 amp circuit serves more than one recepticle, the recepticles may be rated 15 or 20 amps.

and yes, they probably are all the same, you can easily tell without removing them. A 15 amp recepticle looks like this:
