power to shed. dedicated brkr required?r

I want to run a light to a shed 30ft away from main house. Is it code legal to tap into an existing junction box in the house or do I need a dedicated line to the main panel in the house?

It would be legal to extend some existing circuits, but not any existing circuit. Which circuit do you want to extend? What rooms/appliances does it serve now?

I strongly recommend a dedicated circuit to an outbuilding, even if you do find a legal circuit to extend.

Add the new ckt, What inside the house.. another 30' tops?

Use UF cable bury it 18" and your done (kind of).
I don't envy the 30' trench... (thats why I have neighbors kids).
